Stradivarius “Hill” Guitar

I am creating a copy of the Stradivarius Baroque Guitar (dated 1680/88) in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. I started building back in Spring 2015. It’s now close to becoming a complete guitar as I glue the soundboard onto the already assembled back, ribs & neck. It’s been a slow painstaking process to ensure that I get it right, so there have been many pauses while I researched the next step carefully. I will gradually add posts about the back story and photos so that you can see how it came together. It’s been a fascinating journey so far. I can’t wait to hear it play! Neither can the client – my wife, Sarah!
